Abstract:

With the rapid popularization of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, cloud services, and big data technologies, the demand for computing power continues to rise, making computing power a core driving force for the development of the digital economy. Data centers serve as the core carriers for the operation of critical businesses in the digital industry, and a stable and reliable power supply system is the lifeline for ensuring the continuous and stable operation of data centers.

Pain Points:

Data centers have extremely stringent requirements for power supply stability and uninterrupted operation; even minor power anomalies can easily cause system shutdowns and paralysis. During operation, computing server clusters generate significant harmonic interference, severely impacting power quality, exacerbating equipment wear and tear, and creating potential operational hazards. Furthermore, the long distances and numerous connection points of power distribution busbars make it difficult to detect latent faults such as overheating at line joints. In addition, the diverse types and complex layout of equipment within the data center make troubleshooting time-consuming and labor-intensive, resulting in low operational and maintenance efficiency. Therefore, the industry urgently needs integrated intelligent monitoring and early warning solutions for practical application.

1. Project Overview

The Nanjing Binjiang Data Center is a core base for the digital transformation of communications, focusing on intelligent manufacturing, 5G communication equipment R&D and manufacturing, and AI computing power empowerment. It is also an important computing power hub for the core intelligent manufacturing business of enterprises. Ensuring the safe, reliable and stable long-term operation of the power distribution system is the top priority of the project's operation and maintenance management.

Acrel's intelligent power operation and maintenance platform, relying on four core advantages—visual monitoring, accurate diagnosis, security protection, and reliable management and control—creates a full-link power security system for the Nanjing Binjiang Data Center, covering the entire chain from the power distribution bus to the server rack.

1.1 Clear Visibility

The platform utilizes 3D visualization technology to create high-precision digital models of power distribution busbars and server cabinets, fully reproducing the actual wiring layout and equipment arrangement. Simultaneously, wireless temperature monitoring devices are deployed at key locations such as busbars, wiring contacts, and line connections to continuously collect temperature data and upload it to the management platform in real time.

1.2 Accurate Diagnosis

The system performs detailed monitoring of each outgoing line of the precision distribution cabinet (row cabinet). It has high-precision measurement and power quality analysis functions, and can monitor parameters such as voltage, current, harmonics and power factor of each load circuit in real time.

1.3 Solid Protection

The operation of critical equipment such as UPS, distribution cabinets, busbars, and switchgear with defects can cause systemic outages. Power operation and maintenance integrates comprehensive equipment management functions, tracking the lifecycle of critical equipment in real time; simultaneously, it integrates intelligent environmental monitoring, linking smoke detectors, water immersion sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, and video systems to build a proactive safety governance system.

1.4 Effective Management

The system features a built-in equipment operation and maintenance management module, enabling closed-loop management of the entire lifecycle of work orders, from creation and dispatch to execution, acceptance, and archiving. Maintenance personnel can receive inspection tasks in real time via the app, upload photos of on-site data, and ensure that every operation is traceable.

2. Conclusion

Acrel's power operation and maintenance system has built a smart operation and maintenance system for the Nanjing Binjiang Data Center, which features "full status perception, rapid fault location, and risk early warning," effectively supporting the continuous and stable operation of its core intelligent manufacturing business.
